How to Practise Class 10 Maths Sample Papers the Right Way

  1. Finish the NCERT chapters first. A sample paper tests your preparation, so attempt it only after you have completed the chapters it covers.
  2. Download one paper and set a strict 3-hour timer. Attempt it in one sitting, without a calculator, as calculators are not allowed in the board exam.
  3. Start with Section A to secure the 20 marks of MCQs and assertion-reason questions quickly, but do not spend more than 25 to 30 minutes on it.
  4. Write complete steps for 3-mark and 5-mark questions. Marks are given for each correct step, not just the final answer.
  5. Draw neat, labelled figures wherever required and use ฯ€ = 22/7 unless another value is given.
  6. Read every case study slowly before choosing a method and read both options of an internal choice before you start writing.
  7. When the solutions are released, check your answers line by line and note exactly where you lost marks.
  8. Keep a chapter-wise error notebook, revise those chapters from NCERT Solutions and re-attempt the questions you got wrong after a week.
