Means of Transport

People need to move from one place to another. Goods also need to be moved from place to place. There are many means of transport. Transports are very useful to us. Transports carry people and things easily and quickly. There are many means of transport. In old time, people travelled on foot. Today, we have different means of transport.
There are mainly three types of transport:

    • Land transport
    • Water transport
    • Air transport

Local Transport System

Some vehicles run on machines.
For example: Bus, Truck, Scooter, Car, Train etc.
Some vehicles run on tracks like train & metro. Train can carry many people and heavy goods. Train journey is not costly.

Air Transport

Vehicles that fly in the air are Air Transport. These are used to travel very far-off places. These are very costly. Air transport is the fastest means of transport.
People also fly in the air by Hot-air balloons and Gliders. Astronauts reach universe in Rocket and Spacecraft.

Water Transport

Vehicles that move on water are Water Transport. These also can carry many people and heavy goods. These are cheaper than air transport. These move slowly. We choose our vehicles on the basis of distance, time and convenience.
