According to the Prime Minister Office, Centre Board of Secondary Education will now take steps to compile the results of Class 12 students in a time bound manner as per well-defined objective criteria. A release issued by Centre Board of Secondary Education said โ โIt has been decided that any student who is not satisfied with the evaluation shall be provided an option to appear in the examination by (CBSE) Central Board of Secondary Educationโ.
In view of the impact of the pandemic, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Friday constituted a 12 to 13 member committee to work on an objective criterion for evaluation of Class 12, CBSE students after board exams were cancelled. This panel will soon complete its work and the panel will submit its report within 10 days.
Due to CORONA-19 or Uncertain Circumstances and in view of the feedback received from various stakeholders, it has been decided that CBSE’s Class 12 Board Examination will not be conducted 2021, year. And it has also been decided that CBSE will take steps to conduct the examination and to compile the results.
Although there was no examination or scrutiny but a well-defined objective criterion in a time bound manner based on the criteria,โ said CBSE Controller of Examinations Sanyam Bhardwaj, who is also a member of the panel.
Sanyam Bhardwaj stressed that โthe panel will submit its report within 10 days, for this purpose a 12 to 13 member committee has been constitutedโ.
The members of the panel include – Kumar Vipin, Joint Secretary of India, Department of Education; Delhi Education Director Udit Prakash Rai; Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangasthan, (Commissioner) Nidhi Pandey; Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti, Commissioner Vinayak Garg; Chandigarh Director of School Education Rubinderjit Singh Brar; CBSE Director (IT) Antriksh Johri and CBSE Director (Academics) Joseph Emanuel.
The panel will also have one representative each from the University Grants Commission of India (UGC) and the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) and two representatives from schools.
As per the guidelines, 20 point or marks for each subject will be for internal assessment (IA) like every year, while 80 point or marks will be calculated on the basis of performance of students in various examinations throughout the whole year.
The weightage in terms of maximum marks for the schools conducting the examination and examination during the year will be – Periodic Examination / Unit Examination (10 marks), Half-yearly Examination (30 marks) and Pre-Board Examination (40 marks).
For class 10th, schools have been asked to submit tabulated marks by June 30 and results are expected to be declared in July.
