Class 1 Hindi Grammar – Hindi Vyakaran

Topics to be studied in Class 1 Hindi Grammar (Hindi Vyakaran)

In class 1 students are familiarised with the Hindi alphabets, the concept of vowels (SWAR) and consonants (VYANJAN). To begin with they also study the use of MATRAEN which is not quite there in other languages. Students are made aware of gender difference (LING BHED) and the use of verbs (KRIYA) like KARTA HAI, KARTI HAI, KHELTA HAI. They are also introduced to interrogative words like KAISE, KAHAN, KAB, KYA, KAUN, KISLIE, etc. Use of opposite words (VILOM SHABD) is also taught.

Why Hindi Grammar (Vyakaran) is required to be studied

Vyakaran – Grammar means the rules of any language. Knowing the rules helps in writing and speaking correct language. Hindi language is the mother tongue of Indians – hence all the more necessity to know and learn the grammar of Hindi language.

The use of gender or singular-plural may appear very simple. However, even elders find it very difficult to use the correct plural sometime. Teachers should also be sympathetic with the children that mastery over the use of gender and plural could take few years. Here, in class 1 we just make them aware of the gender and plural. They may go wrong – but that is natural in the process learning.

How to go about studying Class 1 Hindi Vyakaran

Once children know the basics, they learn to write short sentences about themselves (Composition on myself). There onwards we proceed to make them understand how to write small paragraphs (ANUCHCHHED) and small stories (KAHANI). This is basically the application of what students learn initially.

They can also be asked write few words or composition by showing them pictures. We should never underestimate the learning capacity of children and encourage them by giving them sufficient number of practice question. Teachers can ask students to seek help from parents in learning topics like gender (LING) and opposite words (VILOM SHABD).

Main topics in Class 1 Hindi Vyakaran to be focused

Alphabets can be mastered in a few days or in matter of a week or a few weeks. Again, we should understand that as teachers and elders it may seem easy for us to distinguish between letters (AKSHAR) but to a beginner it is confusing. We therefore be patient in dealing with kids.

We should encouraged students to come with interesting words for which they are already familiar with. The use of verbs (KRIYA) should be clearly dealt with. The meaning and use of vowels (SWAR), pronouns (SARVNAM), prepositions etc. should follow next. If children could write small meaningful sentences at this stage – the teacher and student, both, need to be congratulated.
