Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday said the country would get a record number of doctors in the next 10 years due to the central government’s policy of setting up at least one medical college in every district. Speaking to the nation through video-conferencing, he said that the coronavirus is still lurking and people should not take it easy and remain vigilant.

Emphasizing that the coronavirus is still not gone and people should not take it easy, the PM said that Yoga and Ayurveda, which have their origin in India, caught the attention of the world during the pandemic.
He said that the export of turmeric from India has increased after the onset of the pandemic as people across the world learned about its health benefits. To spread the message of healthy living, PM Modi urged the people of Kutch to set a world record by ensuring maximum participation of citizens in the district.
The Prime Minister called for the creation of 75 lakes per district on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of India’s independence. He urged the diaspora to contribute to the creation of at least 75 large lakes in the arid Kutch region so that people do not face water scarcity. Modi expressed concern about the Maldihari community of Kutch, whose members are forced to migrate with their livestock and family to other districts in search of water and fodder after the monsoon months are over and the dry season approaches.
He wants the people of Kutch to convince these Maldiharis to stay because there is no shortage of water in Kutch now. They should be made aware that there is no need to migrate as there is now enough water and fodder available in Kutch. This migration also deprives their children of education.
