About Class 11 Maths Chapter 13
Limits and Derivatives is being termed as the introduction chapter for the calculus which is another important branch of the Mathematics. It is one of the most important part of the class 11 mathematics curriculum that deals with the changes in the value of a function as the points in the domain change. The chapter 13 of 11th Maths is divided into various points as Intuitive ideas of derivatives followed by Limits, some algebra of limits, definition of derivative and algebra of derivatives.
Use of Derivatives in Exercise 13.1 of 11th Maths
Part 13.1 of a physical experiment is about calculating the velocity of a body that is free-falling from a tall cliff and the time it took is denoted by t and the distance is denoted by s. You will learn to find these terms which consists of the distance and time the object took to travel.
You must consider the data of the tables and solve the question of finding the velocity with the particular time. In the previous class Maths, you have already solved plenty of questions where you had to find the speed and distances, which makes steps easier to understand. However, you have to check each of the steps carefully to reach the solutions.
Application of Exercise 13.1 of Class 11 Maths
The first topic of finding out the average velocity and different intervals has more than one part. Now, the best part of the topic is that they explained the matter in form of a question itself. This demonstrate the skills to find the solutions by using different methods. Like using the average speed formula.
Now you have calculated different sets of average velocity which is also known as the rate of the change of displacement. This provides us a result of the derivative of distance with respect to its function. Similarly, there is another alternative way of seeing this limiting process which is another important part of chapter 13 demonstrated with the help of figures given in NCERT.
Introduction to limits
Limit is the most important concept of the chapter 13 that you will learn. This also inject some new mathematical signs. It is basically a function that illustrates as complex as It seems it sound complex too it is called “limit of f(x) as x tends to zero equals zero”. It is to be thought that the value of f(x) should be assumed at x = 0. Similarly, other functions are interconnected with each other.
Limit section of chapter 11 from NCERT solutions for Maths Class 11th consists of the most complex functions of advanced mathematics. Here you will pay attention to 10 different illustrations for the same concepts before the beginning of the next concept. This concept knowledge is required to solve all 32 questions from exercise 13.1.
