Subject

Sometime a subject may be Gerund. In the following sentences, the bold words are subjects:

    • The guitar is a stringed instrument.
    • My house in on a lonely road.
    • Shimla is a hill station.
    • India is a peninsula.
    • Raw mango is used to make pickles.
Subject (Gerund) Predicate
Smoking is harmful.
Seeing is believing.
Swimming is a good exercise.
Walkingis useful.

In Imperative Sentences, the Subject is generally understood; as,
Help the poor. = You help the poor.
Get out of the class. = You get out of the class.
Thank you. = I thank you.
Welcome you. = We/I welcome you.
