The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has informed that in the session 2025-26, two examinations for class X and XII will be conducted as per the following details, and accordingly, CBSE Term-I examination of class-X will start from 17.11.2021 and class XII exams will start from 16.11.2021.

Duration of Exams

Duration of Examination

    • Term-I Examination which will be held in the month of November-December, 2021. It will be an objective type test and the duration of this test will be 90 minutes.
    • Term-II Examination will be held in the month of March-April, 2022. It will be a subjective/objective type test as per the situation of COVID-19 in the country.

Duration Of Exams:

    1. The exam will be of 90 minutes duration. Wherever there are some changes, the same is course wise and as mentioned in the admit card.
    2. Keeping in mind the winter session, the exam will start from 11.30 am instead of 10.30 am.
    3. The reading time before the commencement of the examination will be 20 minutes instead of 15 minutes for all categories of candidates.

Policy for PWD Candidates

Policy for Candidates:

    • A) All the facilities and relaxations provided earlier will continue in this examination also.
    • B) As far as extra time is concerned, 20 minutes extra time is required for each 1 hour paper, hence 30 minutes extra time will be allowed for 90 minutes paper.
    • C) All schools shall keep a group of scribes ready among the students of the schools if a scribe is requested.
    • D) Students working as scribes will be awarded a certificate by CBSE in recognition of their services.

Practical/Internal Assessment/Project:
A). The practical/internal evaluation/project work to be completed as per circular no. CBSE/DIR(ACAD)/51/2021 dated 05th July, 2021 has been issued by CBSE in such a way that all the marks are uploaded on the link provided by CBSE by 23.12.2021.
B). Schools can conduct practical/internal assessment/project work latest by 23.12.2021 and marks can be uploaded only on the day when practical/internal assessment/project work is conducted.
C). In case the marks are not uploaded by the schools by 23.12.2021, CBSE will take further action as given below:

    1. Result may be declared without taking into account the Term-I Practical/ IA/ Project Marks.
    2. The result can be declared on the basis of Term-II performance only.
    3. Fine as deemed fit by the competent authority of CBSE and up to Rs. 50,000/- may be levied for consideration of the marks submitted by the schools after the last date.
    4. Action for withdrawal of affiliation may be initiated.
    5. No external examiner will be appointed by CBSE for Term-I examination. Schools will have to complete practical assessment with the concerned school teacher(s).
    6. Schools shall use their own answer sheets and preserve them safely.

Examination Centre

Determination of Examination Centre:
As of today, there are about 26100 schools affiliated to the board in India and 26 countries abroad. Keeping in view the present circumstances, CBSE will try to fix the examination centers in such a way that neither the students nor the schools face any problem. However, while doing so, the security of the examinations will be given top priority.

Capacity Building Programs will be Conducted on:

    • a) Webinars to prepare for the conduct of examinations
    • b) Webinar on Assessment
    • c) The schedule of training programs will be intimated later.
    • d) CBSE will also release videos for capacity building.
Appointment of Supervisors

Since the examination will be conducted in almost all the schools, there is a need to appoint an invigilator at each examination centre to maintain the sanctity and security of the examinations. The pay scale for the appointment of observer will be as follows:

    • A) No. of Students – No. of Supervisors
      1) up to 500 – 01
      2) over 500 – 02
    • B) It will be the responsibility of the City Coordinator (CC) to appoint supervisors at all the examination centres. The city coordinator will ensure the availability of supervisor on each day of the examination as per the prescribed scale.
    • C) It will be the responsibility of the centre superintendent and the city coordinator to ensure the presence of the invigilator on all days of the examination.

OMR Requirement and Supply:

    • a) The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will supply the customized OMR online to the examination centres containing the details of the students allowed to appear in the examination.
    • b) A-4 size photocopy paper of good quality will be required for the printing of OMR.
    • c) OMRS will be supplied by CBSE for all subjects.
    • d) Schools will soon be allowed to download OMR for both classes X/XII as per the schedule provided to them.
    • e) A copy of the OMR will be provided to the schools shortly for the purpose of exercise.
Evaluation of OMR and Rough Work

Evaluation will be done as per the instructions given by CBSE. In this regard, the concerned will be informed separately. Separate sheets will be provided to the students at the examination centre for rough work.

Guidelines to Prevent CORONA-19 and Permitted Items:
The schools, parents and students will strictly follow the CORONA-19, guidelines as mentioned in the guidelines to be provided by CBSE. Items permitted as students will be allowed to carry only permitted items in the examination centre.

All the students shall satisfy themselves before entering the examination centre that they do not possess anything which would aid in improving the performance of the candidates in the examination or endanger the safety and security of the examination.
If it is found that the above instructions are not followed by the students and they are caught, CBSE will not hesitate to take serious action against the student including cancellation of the examination.

Declaration of Result and Guidelines:
The result will be declared as per the information given in the circular no. CBSE/DIR(ACAD)/51/2021 dated July 05, 2021 Issued by Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). Roll numbers will be uploaded on 09.11.2021. Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will also provide detailed guidelines for all office bearers by 09.11.2021.
