Central Board of Secondary Education, CBSE Term 1 Exam 2022 is being conducted for class 10, 12 in various centres across the country. With few papers left for class 12 students, the board has released an important notice on cbse.gov.in modifying several rules for the remaining papers. One of the major changes among them is that CBSE has decided to cancel the same day evaluation from today i.e., December 16, 2021 and said that it will no longer release CBSE answer keys.
With such a huge change in the midst of CBSE Term 1 board exams, many people are puzzled about the reason behind this move. Even though CBSE has not issued any official statement citing the reasons for this change, our sources have told us (on conditions of anonymity) what could be the reason for this change.
CBSE Term 1 Exam, Large-scale cheating rules a sign of change?:
Times Now learned of the misconduct at the school level, which was also reported to the board, which allegedly led to the action. On a whisper, schools were found to be indulging in altering students’ answers in the OMR to actually convey the answers to the students. It is also alleged that the initial change in filling the OMR sheet, i.e., from lowercase to uppercase, was also used as some teachers were trying to tamper with the answers.
There are also reports that some schools will solve the paper before the start of the exam and share the answers with the students. This is said to be the primary reason why the board postponed the issuance of question paper from 10 am to 11 am – when students are sitting in the examination centre. However, there is no official confirmation from the board and this information has been shared only by the sources.
Same day assessment exercise:
CBSE Board Exam 2025-26 Compulsory Centres are mandated to complete the correction of all the papers on the same day of the examination. However, due to some unknown reasons, the official notice on Term 1 examination from CBSE read, – The exercise of same day evaluation at the examination centre is being discontinued with effect from 16.12.2021.
CBSE will send the operation code to the schools via email at 10:45 am. The board has said that in case a student reaches the examination hall late, it is necessary that the candidate is properly searched. Since this is a part of the rules, class 12 students are advised to follow it.
There is no delay in the exam:
If for any reason the CBSE 12th board exams start late, students will be given extra time equal to the time lost. Schools have to ensure that the question papers are printed on time and all arrangements are made so that there is no delay in the examination. After the CBSE Term-1 exam is over, the centre superintendents have to pack and seal the OMR sheet within 15 minutes. It is ideal that the observer is present when this is done.
Once the paper is packed, it is necessary to mention the time of sealing of the parcel and thereafter it should be sent to the concerned Regional Office of CBSE.
CBSE Term 1 Board Exam 2022 Revised rules will be applicable to the Class 12th examinations to be held from December 16 to 30, 2021. This time CBSE has increased the number of examination centres to 14,000 for the safety of all.
