Raghav Khandelwal is in a state of shock after the delayed results of Class 12 CBSE Commerce Mathematics were declared on August 3.
Khandelwal, who was busy preparing to move to Switzerland for his bachelor’s degree course in hotel management, scored much lower than his expectations, blaming the CBSE’s moderation plan.
I scored 94.3% in class X, 85% in class XI and 88% in class XII, which is way below my performance by any standard.
I scored 1,430 on the SAT for my higher education and my reserve estimate for class XII was 92% in all likelihood, – he said.
Another Student’s Pain
Aaradhaya, who is a resident of Niraman Nagar. Now she confused about getting admission in any general college in 12th CBSE commerce with 83 per cent marks.
She saying that – I was expecting in all my test series in the nineties. But her teacher told that they awarded as 75% because of the marks moderation scheme, otherwise it would have been 90% and above.
Eyeing a seat for Meherewal, a leading management school, C. Meherewal feels that despite scoring 91% in class 10 standard and 80% in class 11 standard, her 71% score makes her ineligible to get any scholarship and admission.
The difference in marks moderation between the schools that conducted the exam for the first time and the schools that conducted the multiple times has cost us dearly.
I humbly request CBSE to provide us marks with the same moderation scheme in which they provided other schools – Meherewal said.
His case looks normal until it is known that 234 students of St. Xavier’s School, Newta, Jaipur were given equal marks.
Demanding a fair investigation into the matter, more than 100 parents and students protested in the school with banners and slogans.
One school says, – cannot outperform last year’s city average for schools taking exams for the first time.
In line with the discrepancy, another school facing the same situation was Happy Public School. Principal Vijaya-Varigiya said that CBSE may have given the responsibility of giving marks to the schools, but the hands of the schools have been tied.

Principal Vijaya-Varigiya (Happy Public School), who wrote a letter to CBSE seeking clarification. He said that the moderation formula has allowed our school to give more than 90% marks to only two students, who were based on the reference year of 2019-20.
