Hailing from a low-income family based in village Shahranpur, Uttar Pradesh, Happy Kumar has faced many challenges during his online classes. Yet he is among the top scorers in the CBSE 12th Board Exams and now aspiring to crack the engineering entrance JEE Main.
The last session of JEE Mains is scheduled to be held by the end of this month. He has secured 91 percentiles in JEE Mains February attempt and 96 percentiles in March session.
Depends On Video Based Platform:
Internet connectivity is low in our area. I don’t have a laptop and I used to connect classes on the phone and when I got to network. With schools closed, Happy relied heavily on the video-based platform YouTube, which lets study according to-choice.
Coaching for JEE used to be provided by the school on weekends on Saturdays and Sundays, but was closed due to the pandemic. That’s why I did self-study. I’ve been relying on YouTube lessons on engineering exams and free courses to prepare for the exam, – says Happy.
Scored A Total Of 496 Marks Out Of 500:
He has scored a total of 496 marks out of 500. Happy has scored 100 marks in Chemistry, Mathematics and Information Practice (IP). In Physics and English, he got 98 marks. He secured 99.2 percent marks in the CBSE Class 12 Result 2021. He is among the top 70,000 students out of 14 lakh students who took the exam.
This year, class 12 students were scored on the basis of their performance in class 10, 11 and 12 internals. Being a meritorious student throughout his life, Happy expected good marks in the board.
Economically Underprivileged Background:
Happy comes from a financially weak background. He studied at Vidya-Gyan, Bulanda-shahra – a school that provides free education to students from underprivileged backgrounds.
Happy’s father is a small-scale grocery store owner and the breadwinner of the family. His mother is a homemaker and he also has two siblings. While her sister is pursuing her second year of Bachelor of Arts (BA), her brother is in his first year.
He is now preparing for Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main – Engineering Entrance Exam. His goal is to become a computer science engineer. I love artificial technology (AI) and technology and I want to study it – says Happy.
Admission Taken In Shiv Nadar University:
While he has already taken admission in Shiv Nadar University, Noida’s BTech in Computer Science course with the help of scholarship, he will also appear for JEE Advanced – IIT entrance exam.
If he clears JEE Advanced, then he plans to join IIT or NIT. I would prefer IIT Kanpur, IIT Roorkee, or IIT Delhi because they are closer to my home, – says Happy.
