Former Petroleum and Natural Gas and Steel Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has now been given the portfolio of the Ministry of Education and Skill Development and Entrepreneurship.
National Testing Agency (NTA) will conclude the application process for Joint Entrance Examination Main 2021 third session today, July 8. Engineering aspirants who have still not applied for JEE Main 2021 can register online through the official website of JEE– jeemain.nta.nic.in. Application fee can be paid till 11.50 pm.

Exam Dates for JEE

Exams Will be Held:
The exam will be conducted from July 20 to July 25, 2021. To overcome the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the number of cities has been increased from 232 to 334. The number of examinations centres in each shift will also be increased from 660 to 828.

How To Apply for JEE Main Exam 2021

Candidates can apply online by following these easy steps:

    • 1) First of all visit the official website of JEE Main at jeemain.nta.nic.in.
    • 2) Click on JEE Main 2021 Registration link available on the homepage.
    • 3) A new page will open. Enter your registration or login details.
    • 4) Fill the application form and pay the application fee.
    • 5) Download the confirmation page and keep it safe for future use.
    • 6) During the registration process, candidates can also change the exam centres of their choice.

“You have to inform us within these three days to change the examination centre as per your wish or convenience. We will try to give you the centre of your choice,” the minister said.

The Official Notification Of NTA States

“The total number of candidates already registered for April session is 6.80 lakh and for May session is 6.09 lakh. But after receiving multiple representations from candidates for reopening of online application window for JEE (Main) – 2021 April session, another opportunity to apply or withdraw for remaining JEE (Main) 2021 session (April) It has been decided to provide and May)”, the official notification of NTA stated.

Examination and Registration

The postponed April and May sessions of Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main will be held in July and August, Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ said. The third session of JEE Main will be conducted from July 20 to July 25 and the fourth session from July 27 to August 2, 2021. Students who did not register due to COVID will now be allowed to apply again. Pokhriyal said that the NTA has allowed applications from July 6 to July 8 night. Candidates can register for the fourth session from July 9 to July 12.

Exams Held In This Year

Amid the rising COVID-19 cases in the country, the National Testing Agency (NTA) had earlier postponed the JEE Main exam for April and May sessions.
In April the exam was scheduled to be held on 27th, 28th and 30th April and the May session exam was scheduled to be held on 24th, 25th, 26th, 27th and 28th May, 2021.
The first two sessions were held in February (23-26 February) and March (16-18 March) this year. Over 6 lakh (6,20,978) appeared in the first session and over 5 lakh (5,56,248) in the second session.

Students Can Attempt More Than Once

In its public announcement, NTA said that JEE Main was divided into four sessions this year to provide flexibility to the students amid the COVID-19 pandemic. “Students will now get many chances to improve their performance in JEE exam. So, if a student does not perform well in one attempt, he can do it thrice in a year”, the education minister said.

Although JEE Main is the entrance exam for admission to undergraduate engineering programs in India including the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) and National Institutes of Technology (NITs).
