The National Board of Medical Examination in Medical Sciences declared the NEET PG 2021 results on September 28, 2021.
This Year & Last Year: Last year, the revised cut off was 30 per cent for general, 25 per cent for persons with disabilities and 20 per cent for scheduled castes and tribes and other backward classes.
The cut-off for general category including Unreserved and Economically Weaker Section (EWS) is 50 percentile, 302 marks cut-off, while for Other Backward Classes, Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes the cut-off is 50 percent, 265 marks, which corresponds to 40 percentiles. And (UR-Persons with Disability) the cut-off becomes 283, excluding 45 percentiles.

NEET Has Generally Increased By 7.6 Percent

We can clearly see that the cut-off has increased significantly as compared to last time. Over the years, it has been found that the cut-off for, PG NEET has generally increased by 7.6 per cent every year.
This time the cut-off was estimated to be more than 260+. However, with the “302” cut off, the minimum score required to qualify for counselling has increased significantly.

Huge Demand For General Medicine:
In a simple manner, with Doctor of Medicine and Master of Science or MD/MS receiving two rounds of counselling. As usual Counselling will be conducted in rounds 1, 2 and 3, while government colleges will receive three rounds of counselling, with one round serving as upgrade round.

This year’s scenario is important because students assumed that the cut-off would be standard, but it is actually quite high, and also because the branch pattern has changed, with general medicine being in high demand, followed by radiology and dermatology.

Counselling Plays An Important Role

Medical counselling plays a vital role in ensuring that students gain a complete understanding of all aspects of the medical industry to make better informed and productive decisions.

Commenting on the same, G. Tyagi said, that this year’s NEET PG cut-off is 40% higher than last year’s, which means that the counselling pattern may be different for Diplomats of the National Board – called DNB. And as per the MCC-Medical Council Committee, this counselling pattern for Doctor of Medicine and Master of Science or MD/MS may differ.

Students Unhappy With The Result:
In view of the situation, students have also come forward and shared their frustration with their results as they do not match with their calculated results, and as a result, they are approaching the DNB to get clarification regarding that the grades obtained by them do not match with the grades obtained by them.

Also, on the other hand, candidates are now waiting for the revised cut-off dates which are most likely to be announced if the number of people who qualify for the counselling falls below the pre-determined limit.

Students Are Very Confused & Stressed

While talking to one of the candidates of National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (Post Graduate) S. Pandey said, we are expecting the cut-off to be reduced to some extent after Round 2 as the counselling for the same has not started yet. Because there is no such news. From the government but the counselling is expected to be held around October 20, it will be planned.
