Top 13 IIT Patna Professors Named in Top 2% of Stanford University Scientists

Thirteen professors from IIT Patna have been included in Stanford University’s list of top two percent of researchers worldwide. Faculty members of IIT Patna from various streams including Engineering, Science and Humanities, Mathematics and Computer Science have got their names in the list by Stanford University.

Professors of Various Departments of Engineering and Humanities:

    • 1) Dr. Manabender Pathak, Dr. Karali Patra, Dr. Surjit Paul and Dr. Anirban Bhattacharya from Mechanical Engineering stream joined the list.
    • 2) Similarly, Dr. Soumajyotiya Ray and Dr. Naveen’s Nischa were selected from other departments like Physics.
    • 3) Dr. Richa Choudhary was recruited from the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences.
    • 4) Dr. Asif Iqbal and Dr. Sriparna Saha from Computer Science and Engineering were featured.
    • 5) Dr Pratibhamay Das featured from the Department of Mathematics.
    • 6) Two Professors Dr. Udit Satija and Dr. Mahesh Kumar H. Kolekar have been selected from the Department of Electrical Engineering.
    • 7) While Dr. Amarnath Hegde was recruited from the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering.

Stanford University list

Along with IIT Patna, 16 researchers from Jamia Malia Islamia (JMI) University were also included in the Stanford University list. A total of 3,353 researchers from India have been included in the list prepared by the university. Twenty-nine scientists from Jadavpur University, Kolkata have also been included in the list.

IIT Patna Students Get Highest Salary

IIT Patna Students Get 34 Pre-Placement offers, Highest Salary:
During the placement drive at Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Patna, B. Tech batch students have received 34 pre-placement offers as compared to 20 last year, registering a significant increase of 79 per cent in PPOs for the academic year, 2025-26.

Companies from various sectors like IT, Finance, Management & Consultancy, Core, Analytics etc. have made pre-placement offers in various domains for the undergraduate batch of 2022 students at IIT Patna.

Maximum Salary Package

Maximum Salary Package of PPO:

    1. The maximum salary package of PPO offers was 55 lakhs while other top offers ranged between 25 to 53 lakhs. The average package of PPOs received so far is around 25 lakhs per annum.
    2. Goggle has offered Pre-Placement Offer (PPO) to 6 students of IIT Patna’s 2022 undergraduate batch. Adobe, Gojek, Media.net and Morgan Stanley have each offered a PPO to a student.
    3. Salesforce, an American cloud-based software company headquartered in San Francisco, California, has also offered pre-placement offers to two students. Investment banking firm Goldman Sachs has extended the PPO to three students.
    4. Insurance and healthcare firm Optum has offered PPOs to seven students, Samsung Research Bangalore to three students and Publicis Sapient to three students.
    5. Other major firms that have expanded PPOs include Innovaker, Mathsworks, Intuit and Expedia. Several IIT Patna students who did internships this summer (May’21 – July ’21) have received pre-placement offers based on their skill and hard work performance throughout the programme.

IIT Patna said that the students have done their internship in remote mode due to the nationwide pandemic-induced lockdown and the interview process was conducted online.
