This is the first time that all the 23 IITs are coming together for this event. The program named “IInventTiv” aims to create holistic awareness about the research and innovation work being done by IITs and to explore collaborative avenues between state universities and institutions, industry and IITs for better development.
The first ever mega R&D fair is going to be organized at the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi campus from October 14 to 15, 2022.
It is being organized in line with the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav initiative to commemorate the 75th year of India’s independence.
The Mega Research and Development Fair will facilitate a comprehensive understanding of the needs at the grassroots level in key areas such as agriculture, rural development, sanitation, resource management and engage them to develop innovations that have a positive impact on a large section of the society.
It will showcase projects on various areas covering climate change, sustainability, smart city architecture science, rural agriculture, affordable health care, drone technology, etc.
A total of 74 projects brought out by 22 IITs have been selected for the event along with six showcase projects. The six showcase projects are listed below.
Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan will inaugurate this fair. The event will also host institute administrators and students from Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities to give them a closer look at the R&D ecosystem of IITs and in turn adopt a similar innovation-driven approach to development of projects of national interest Can go.
The objective of the fair is to promote innovations in line with the Make in India and Digital India initiatives, and find solutions for better accessibility and scalability of innovations that will benefit the population in different regions.
