As per official data, more than 13,000 students have secured their admission in Delhi University under the second cut-off list, while more than 1.15 lakh applications have been received so far. The first list was admitted by 36,130 students, filling a little over half of the 70,000 undergraduate seats on offer.
According to the data shared by the university, 13550 students have submitted fees while 7244 applications have been approved by the principals. A total of 1,15,492 applications have been received by the university since the commencement of the admission process on October 4 under the first cut-off list. According to Dr Babli Moitra Saraf, Principal, Indraprastha College for Women, they are likely to fill most of the unreserved seats in several courses, while BA (Hons) Sanskrit is likely to remain open in the third list.
Last Date of Application on Wednesday:
The college has filled almost half of the 1,299 plus seats in the first list, while the total number now stands at 900. Wednesday is the last date for applications while Thursday will be the last day to approve colleges. Friday is the last day for fee payment. Manish Kansal, (admission coordinator of Hindu College) said that the total number of admissions in the college has reached 1,842.
We have filled the unreserved seats in B. Com (Hons) while there is a gap of about seven seats in BA (Hons) Economics. We have taken 100 admissions in B. Com (Hons) against 78 seats and out of these, 76 admissions are in unreserved category, which has 31 seats. In the third list, courses for general category are likely to be closed while economics (hons) may be open.
In Aryabhata College, English (Hons), History (Hons), Computer Science (Hons), Mathematics (Hons), Economics (Hons), BA Prog are likely to close in the second list. Admissions in these subjects have already violated the seat limit.
Against 1st, 2nd Cut-Off More Than 1 Lakh Applications Were Received; 7,244 Approved, DU
Delhi University (DU) has received a total of 1,15,490 applications against the first and second cut-offs for admission to undergraduate (UG) programmes. The university had declared the first and second cut-off list on October 1 and October 9, respectively, by 6:15 pm. According to university officials, 7,244 applications have been approved by the principal and 13,552 students have made payments.
Students also have the Provision to Change their Colleges:
Candidates who meet the second cut off will be able to register online on the college website till October 13. There is also a provision for students to change their college and the options selected against the first cut-off and take admission against the second cut-off list. To change colleges and courses of DU, candidates have to withdraw their previous admission taken against the first cut-off list in DU and select new colleges and courses as per eligibility.
Cancellation Option is Available Only Once in a Particular Cut-Off:
Candidates whose admissions were approved in the first round, but did not pay the fees and wish to change college or program, will have to cancel the already accepted application and apply again. Cancellation option is available only once in a particular cut-off admission round. If a candidate cancels his admission in one round, he will not be able to apply again in the same cut-off.
