Food is something that provides nutrients. Nutrients are substances that provide: energy for activity, growth, and all functions of the body such as breathing, digesting food, and keeping warm; materials for the growth and repair of the body, and for keeping the immune system healthy.

Give reasons why should we eat vegetables and fruits?

Fruit and vegetables are a good source of vitamins and minerals, including vitamin C and potassium. They’re an excellent source of dietary fibre, which can help to prevent constipation and other digestion problems. A diet high in fibre can also reduce your risk of bowel cancer. They are also called protective food items which prevent us from falling sick often.

Who are vegetarians? How are they different from non-vegetarians?

A vegetarian is someone who doesn’t eat meat, and mostly eats foods that come from plants, like grains, fruits, vegetables, and nuts. Some stricter vegetarians avoid more than just meat. They also avoid animal products, which are non- meat foods that come from animals.
Non-vegetarian refers to those who eat food items containing meat (red meat, poultry, seafood, or the flesh of any other animal), and sometimes, eggs.

But Gender inequality is when one group in a society has more rights than the other. Where gender inequality exists, women are not allowed to make decisions or participate indecision-making. They are not allowed to enjoy the basic rights, like getting educated or working or going out like the male members of the family are allowed.

Give reasons why we should take meals three times in a day?

Essentially, it is recommended that we eat three meals a day so your body is gets enough time to digest the food you consume while utilizing the nutrients required. Doing so also helps us not to overeat during any one particular meal. So, eating three meals reduces hunger more effectively.

What would happen if we do not eat a filling breakfast in the morning?

Skipping breakfast may reduce total daily calorie intake, which can lead to weight loss. Some people also skip breakfast as a form of irregular fasting. A healthy breakfast has many health benefits, so try not to skip it. Breakfast replenishes the stores of energy and nutrients in your body. People who do not have breakfast may not meet their recommended daily intakes of fibre, vitamins and minerals.

Food gives us energy and nutrients, which help our growth and development. The body needs a lot of nutrients like protein, carbohydrate, fat, vitamins and minerals to stay healthy.
