NCERT Solutions for Class 9 Maths Chapter 4 Exercise 4.3

The main application of the linear equations in class 9 Maths is the representation on Graph. Exercise 4.3 begins with (i) x + y = 4 types of questions which will only ask you to find the solution and use it to represent it on the graph. However, if you look at questions 4, 6, and more you will find out the word problem also.

There the case is indeed different. It is more about the word problem, where you are supposed to form the equation first. This type of question is usually time-consuming where you have to perform three operations. Make the equation, solve the equation, and then graphical representation.

These are some of the important steps that correlate with each other. A small miscalculation here could lead to incorrect solution. So, it is suggested to check the answer to each step once you complete them. During the time-bound test, the chances of spending more time on a particular question is high. But even in such conditions, you have to check, if the steps in your answer are correct.

In class IX Maths NCERT (https://ncert.nic.in/) textbook, if we are going to plot linear equation using set of solutions, must take 3 coordinates. Plotting a line with two coordinates or solutions may be wrong sometime. If we take three points, it is quite easier to check the mistake during the plot of equation. For the simplicity, once take x equal to 0 to find y coordinate and then y equal to 0 to find x coordinate. These two solutions are helpful to find the intersection of line on axis.

If you are doing less practice, the third stage of graphical representation, you will find yourself stuck. Then you have to recalculate all the answers and replace them with the accurate ones.

One of the points that you have to keep in mind while working with a linear equation in two variables is, if two variable equations containing two slopes are equivalent, then the lines will be parallel. For instance in the absence of intersections, you will be unable to find a solution.
