Wild Animals

Animals that live in forest are called wild animals. We cannot keep them in our houses. We can see wild animals in a zoo. Wild animals have different shapes and sizes.
Examples:
Tigers, zebras, giraffes, bears, deers, owls and snakes are some other wild animals.

Where Wild Animals Live?

Wild animals live in different types of homes. Some wild animals make homes on their own. Some others live in natural shelters.
Elephants, zebras and deer rest under the shade of trees. Chimpanzees, monkeys and gorillas live on or under the trees. Birds make nests to lay eggs and to keep their babies safe. Animals like, moles, rats, mongooses, snakes and rabbits live in holes in the ground.

What Wild Animals Eat?

Wild animals eat different kinds of food. Some animals eat grass and leaves, some eat other animals and some other are eat both.

Herbivores:

Animals such as deer, giraffes, zebras and elephants eat grass and leaves. They are called plant eaters or herbivores.

Carnivores

Animals such as lions, tigers, cheetahs, wolves and crocodiles eat flesh of other animals. They are called meat-eaters or carnivores.

Scavengers

Animals such as hyenas, jackals and vultures eat the flesh of dead animals. They are called scavengers. Scavengers keep the jungles clean.

Omnivores

Animals such as bears, cats, dogs and crows eat both plants and flesh. They are called omnivores.
