Here we are going to study the equations with linear expressions in a single variable. These simple equations are known as linear equations in a variable. The simple equations you learned in previous classes were of this type. The algebraic equation is an equality involving variables. It has a similar symbol. The expression on the left side of the equalization sign is on the left (LHS). The expression to the right of the equal sign is the right-hand side (RHS).
Solution of Simple Linear Equations
In an equation, the expression values for LHS and RHS are the same. This is true only for specific values of the variable. These values are solutions of the equation. To find the answer to an equation, we assume that both sides of the equation are balanced. We do the same mathematical work on both sides of the equation, not to disturb the balance.
