#### About 10 Maths Exercise 12.2

In Exercise 12.2, the questions are based on area of sectors as well as area of segments. Quadrant is a sector with central angle 90. If it is mention that the area of segment is to find, then we have to find area of minor segment. In Question 3, first we have to find angle formed in 5 minutes by minute hand and then apply the formula of area of sector. The exercise 12.2 is quite easy to understand and solve.

##### Area of a Segment

To obtain the area of segment, first of all find the area of sector and then area of triangle formed on the chord of sector. Subtracting the area of triangle from area of sector, we will obtain the area of minor segment. If we subtract this area from the area of circle, the area of major segment can be obtained. Area of segment can be determined with a direct formula, but direct formula is not valid for CBSE Class x.
