Parts of Cartesian plane in 9th Maths Exercise 3.2

The second half of the chapter 3 of Class Maths has in-depth knowledge about the Cartesian plane. Where student will see the main four-quadrant that formed from two lines intersecting each other at right angles. Points on the Cartesian plane are known as ORDERED PAIR. It becomes absolutely vital for illustrations of the solutions to equations with more than one data point. There are certain rules that you must understand while making a graphical representation. All the solutions for grade 9 Maths are given here in PDF and Video format to download. Class 9 Mathematics solutions are useful for both – CBSE and State board students.

Abscissa and Ordinate in Cartesian plane

The abscissa is the formal term used for the point marked by making perpendicular from the y – axis and measuring the length of the x-axis. On the other hand, the point marked on y – the coordinate by the drawing the perpendicular on the x-axis measuring y-axis called Ordinate. These are small laws that you must keep in mind for recognizing coordinate for the Cartesian plane, also to make one yourself.

Practice of Plotting Points in a Cartesian plane

Since now you must have solved plenty of linear equations, you should know while writing coordinates of points for the Cartesian plane and must mention the x-axis. Then break it with a comma and mention the y-axis. Closely studying the example to understand the functions shall get you the vision for solving the two questions of exercise 3.2.

Sectors of the Cartesian system

These four quadrants represent a full set of coordinates including the x and y-axis. The importance of learning this system is that you will use it to plot the points and curves. We also use it to get the solution to formulae with two variables present, typically represented by x and y.

If you see examples given in class 9 Maths Exercise 3.2, before proceeding with the exercise question, you will see the full illustration and explanation, of how you can use the four quadrants.
